5 Quotes From Bill Gates That Will Teach You Valuable Life Lessons

Image
Bill Gates has accomplished more wealth and success than anyone of our generation. But even more importantly he has worked tirelessly to improve lives and prevent deaths through his generous charitable contribuitons. I have left out a couple of his more well-known quotes and instead tried to focus on those lesser known quotes. I hope you will find that these resonate with some of your own valuable life lessons you know to be true. Here is a healthy dose of what has made Mr. Gates successful and things we should pay close attention to if we wish to succeed at our own dreams and desires. 1. Focus “The most important work I got a chance to be involved in, no matter what I do, is the personal computer. You know, that’s what I grew up in my teens, my 20s, my 30s, you know, I even knew not to get married until later because I was so obsessed with it. That’s my life’s work.” We start life with many big dreams–things we want to accomplish, create, build and experience. But i

The Simplest Ways to Come Up With Really Creative Ideas

Image
It’s painful, isn’t it? You’ve got loads of energy and a heap of passion. Yet you can’t think of a single really creative idea to develop. It doesn’t matter if you’re a writer, artist, engineer, mechanic or person of any profession. Thinker’s Block will arrive. It happens to everyone. When it does, here are some easy ways to check that frustration out of your life and create an endless pool of ideas. How to “Brain Dump” and set the stage for coming up with really creative ideas In a freely available online video called the 50-Minute Focus Finder , real estate guru and marketing genius Dean Jackson reveals a great technique: open a journal to a blank page and start to write. Anything. Just let go. Although Jackson doesn’t mention this in the video, if you can’t think of anything to write on that page, just put down your name. Write your name again and again until you think of something else. Trust me. This isn’t crazy. It’s a great way of boring yourself into

Image
No matter how wise you think you are when approaching your 30s, you are bound to emerge from the decade even more enlightened. Just as your 20s bring unexpected twists and turns, your 30s most definitely come with surprising discoveries. Whether you want a jump on these lessons, or just want to feel you’re not alone, these are the top 20 things people learn from the big mistakes they made in their 30s. Waiting too long to start saving It doesn’t take a six figure income or three degrees on your resume to have a secure retirement. The most sure fire way to save for your future is slowly over the years. Even if you feel like you’ll never be old in your 20s, the day will come when you wish you had started saving a little earlier. Rushing into marriage Another one of the biggest mistake from your 30s is to commit to marriage before you know everything about yourself. Too often we jump head first into decisions because society encourages them, only to find out a

7 Steps To A Winning Business Proposal Seven essential steps to guarantee you get the contract.

In today's competitive business environment, your ability to write powerful proposals could mean the life, or death, of your business. When government agencies and large corporations need to buy products or services from an outside source, they often release what is called a Request for Proposal (RFP) , a formal document outlining their needs. To bid for the job, you must submit a proposal, which will explain how your company would meet the client's needs and should convince the client to hire your company, instead of a competitor. Charles Wakefield's company, Tectonics International Inc., is a Scottsdale, Arizona consulting firm that helps organizations change their business processes, systems, and other internal structures. Wakefield says that getting their first service contract was not a matter of luck. "We provided a very professional proposal that was well thought through," explains Wakefield. "And we had people with the specific to

9 Things Successful People Do To Always Get What They Want

Image
  1. They know what they want. The first and most important thing that successful people do to always get what they want is so simple that most people totally forget about it: they figure out  what they actually want.  When you know what  you want, you can get clear about what you need to do to actually get  what you want. (If you’re unsure about what you want in life and business, I’d suggest picking up some career and self-improvement books to help you gain some clarity and focus). 2. They’re assertive. Successful people know that they need to be both  bold  and sincere . Balancing these two characteristics is the essence of assertiveness. Oh, and by the way – being assertive is not a natural talent someone is born with. Assertiveness is a learned skill. And anyone can do it. Including you! 3. They learn. You may have heard the old saying, “great leaders are readers”. For the most part, I’d say this is totally true. Let me give you an example … On my radio show

10 Ways To Be A Better Friend

Image
I was recently asked who I consider to be my best friend. After thinking about it for a while, I decided I could not choose just one. All of my friends are so dear to me, and I think part of the reason I have so many strong, long-standing relationships in my life is because I try to treat everyone with equal respect and understanding. I recently decided to try and pinpoint exactly what I think makes the relationships in my life work so well. Here is what I found: Have Empathy Everyone knows the golden rule: Treat others the way you wish to be treated. There is a fine line between projecting your own experiences on others and actually understanding what they are going through. This line can be referred to as empathy. Healthy relationships cannot exist without it, and it is the key to cooperation. Too many think only of themselves when making decisions, and then they wonder why they are alone. Others struggle to accept the fact that two people who have a similar ex

11 Reasons Why You Don’t Have Many Friends

Image
Finding and keeping friends in adulthood is different from the days when you played on the playground at recess. It takes work to maintain friendships over time. If you don’t have many friends, it’s important to consider the possible reasons why. 1. You Complain A Lot If you’re constantly complaining about your job, lack of money, or unfair life, people won’t care to spend a lot of time with you. Complaining gets old fast. Try to develop a more positive attitude and look for more interesting topics to discuss rather than what’s going wrong in your life. 2. You Ditch Your Friends When You’re in a Relationship If you’re guilty of ditching your friends every time you begin dating someone new, it’s likely your friends won’t sit around and wait to hear your breakup story. Instead, they’ll move on without you. It’s important to find a balance between spending time with your pals and your latest romantic interest. 3. You’re Selfish Consider whether or not being selfish

SUPPORT THE MOVEMENT: COP IN MY CITY

"Meet Mr Julius Kessy" We are in the universe where space tourism could be the next big thing, with the Americans' ambitious project to establish human colony on Mars. These people want to go to Mars and never come back. Our inaction is costing us lives, biodiversity and endangering the lives of future generations. I awake Tanzanian youths as a youth climate change advocate for there is neither plan B nor planet B for us. We can't all leave the Earth lonely. "I pretend for a living but you do not"- Leonardo DiCaprio. "Earth song- By Michael Jackson" is my favorite song in the pictures' caption below. LET'S GO STAND OUT AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE ! 10 Signs That They’re Toxic People, Even Though You Don’t Feel Like It

Image
They’re Controlling A sizable indicator that someone is a toxic person is if they are overly controlling. Though many of us have controlling tendencies, there’s a difference between someone who likes things tidy and someone who tries to manipulate the people close to them. If you feel somebody trying to pull your strings the person in question is probably not the best for you. They’re Jealous Another way someone can be a toxic force in your life is by being constantly jealous of your accomplishments. The people you are closest to in life should be overjoyed each time you succeed, so if you feel like you can never share good news with this person that should be a red flag. They Lie Unsurprisingly, toxic people are often frequent liars. Whether this person is telling large or little lies, it doesn’t matter. If you frequently catch someone lying to others, there’s a strong chance they are also lying to you. People who have the greatest positive ef
