12. Kathleen Battle
Kathleen Battle is well known for her beautiful soprano voice. She
also got a lot of unwanted public attention in the 1990s, when she was
fired from the Metropolitan Opera. Her dismissal from the company was
largely due to her unprofessional and diva-like actions, which included
treating the cast and crew of her productions very poorly. Some of the
people who worked with Kathleen even got t-shirts that read “I Survived
The Battle.” She pretty much confirmed the rumors that she was a diva
when she was asked about her behavior during an interview and walked
out. Battle has also been known to go to restaurants and make ridiculous
demands, such as not having too many peas in her soup. She sounds like a
lovely lady.
11. Catherine Zeta-Jones
Catherine Zeta-Jones
has been known for not looking or acting as beautiful as she does on
screen. Zeta-Jones is said to walk around with a scowl on her face, and
isn’t very nice to waiters when she goes out to eat. A waiter who used
to work at a popular restaurant in New York City stated that Catherine
doesn’t make eye contact or smile when she’s interacting with “the
help,” and she has a tendency to be rude if the wait staff asks for
clarification on her order. Zeta-Jones also once demanded that the
restaurant serve her a salad that had been taken off the menu. Even
though the wait staff was very attentive, the actress reportedly tends
to only tip between 8 and 10%. Not pretty.
Looks like actor Jeremy Piven took his role as Ari Gold in the hit series
Entourage,
a little too seriously. Due to his recent behavior, it’s pretty clear
that Piven has used some of his entitled and obnoxious behavior from
real life to make the character of Ari more believable. While in Aspen
for a comedy festival, Piven allegedly behaved so terribly that the
manager at Nobu asked him to leave and never come back. Nobu is known
for welcoming celebrities who love sushi, so this was likely pretty
embarrassing for Piven. His ego was so bruised that he left an
Entrouage DVD as a tip and left the restaurant after saying, “thanks for nothing.” Classic Ari Gold.
Lea Michele is best known for her starring role on the Fox show Glee.
Unfortunately, she’s also known for being completely terrible to
waiters in restaurants. Michele apparently harassed one of the servers
who was waiting on her, and made fun of him when he tried to explain the
ingredients in one of the dishes offered at the restaurant. She
chastised the waiter, telling him he had no idea what he was talking
about and complained about the waiter to several restaurant managers.
During this incident, Lea was out with her family, and even sent her
father to knock on the kitchen windows to ask when the food would be
ready, even though she’d placed her order less than 20 minutes before.
According to one of the waiters at the restaurant, the actress and her
family were a real pain, and only tipped 10 percent.
Kendall Jenner
is probably the least annoying of the Kardashian family, but that
doesn’t mean she’s completely in touch with reality. Jenner didn’t seem
to understand why a restaurateur wouldn’t serve her alcohol, even though
she’s underage. After all, she’s a big celebrity and supermodel, so how
is it that she can’t get everything she wants at all times? When a
server at Mercer Kitchen refused to give Jenner a cocktail, she left
without paying her bill! This led the server to chase her out of the
restaurant and demand the money. Kendall then allegedly threw some
twenties in the server’s face and walked away while socializing with her
girlfriends. How charming.

There are several reasons why Tiger Woods
doesn’t have such a great reputation in the media. Woods was at the
center of a pretty big scandal when he cheated on his then-wife with
several different women. He also had a falling out with Hank Haney, his
former golf coach. After the public dispute, Haney revealed that Tiger
was a real jerk. The coach stated that Woods would force his dining
companions to leave the restaurant when he felt like leaving.
Hank also stated that Tiger was known for tipping little or nothing when
he ate out, even though he’s worth around half a billion dollars.

Warren Sapp
hasn’t exactly been in good standing with the media for the entirety of
his NFL career. He now works as a commentator, and still can’t seem to
behave himself in public at times. After dining at a sports bar, Warren
wrote the words “boys don’t tip” on his receipt. Apparently, he did this
because his waiter referred to him and his friends as “boys” during his
time at the restaurant (as in, “What can I get you boys to drink?”).
Sapp didn’t deny the incident, but restaurant surveillance showed that
the waiter came to Sapp’s table more than 20 times in the two hours he
and his friends were there. The former athlete didn’t appear bothered or
unhappy—until it was time to tip. Looks like Sapp just didn’t want to
shell out the cash.

Usher may be a talented singer, dancer, actor and former judge on The Voice,
but there are probably some waiters out there who would say he’s a bit
of a jerk. According to sources, Usher visited a restaurant years ago
and tried to use his celebrity status to get the bartender to sell him
alcohol, even though he was under 21. Years later, he went to the same
restaurant and left his autograph in lieu of a tip. Both instances sound
pretty obnoxious. He’d better start using more manners if he wants to
get back in the good graces of his fans.

Sean Combs
(aka P. Diddy, aka Puffy, aka Puff Daddy, aka Puff) has made billions
from Ciroc, his brand of vodka. He’s also been pretty successful as a
producer and rapper, and has worked with groups like Danity Kane, along
with veteran artists like Mary J. Blige.
Combs has even rapped about how much money he has in a variety of
songs. So, why would he have such a hard time tipping waiters
appropriately? Apparently, Combs was out with 14 of his friends, and
racked up a pretty huge tab. However, he only left a $40 tip. That’s far
from a decent tip for a person who can practically make millions in his
sleep.

Bill Cosby
hasn’t exactly been in the spotlight for good reasons these days. The
number of women who have accused him of coercing them into sex continues
to grow, and his reputation of being America’s Favorite TV Dad is
waning fast. Cosby, who has also been an entertainer for decades and is a
long-time supporter of education and community development, is
apparently a bad tipper as well. One server confirmed that the actor and
comedian left a $3 tip for a bill that was over $300. Apparently, Cosby
doesn’t fully understand the value of money when he’s not the one
making it.
You’d think the “Material Girl” knows how to tip her servers well and
at least be polite when dining out, since she’s been in the business
for so long. Wrong. Sources say that Madonna once
paid an $18 tip for a bill that was around $400. That’s pretty
disappointing, to say the least. However, we can’t say we’re too
surprised. After Madonna’s recent (and extremely inappropriate) kiss
with Drake
at Coachella and her desperate attempts to prove that she’s still “got
it” by wearing corsets and fishnets on stage, it’s no shock that Madonna
still has a lot to learn when it comes to social graces.

Sure, we haven’t seen too much of Sean Penn in movies this days. However, the Dead Man Walking star (he is also Charlize Theron’s ex-boyfriend and Madonna’s ex-husband) still has the money to enjoy a great dinner every once in a while. Penn recently visited a restaurant in New Orleans, where his bill came out to $450. The wait staff was probably anticipating a pretty healthy tip since the bill was so large, which is logical. However, Sean Penn left nothing for the people who likely waited on him hand and foot. That’s right. Not one red cent. He’s been known for being pretty cheap when it comes to tipping, so perhaps it’s time for Penn to try and land more roles so he’ll actually be prepared for dining out
